The Dang Ol' Tri'ole is a 5 person bohemian folk group from the Twin Cities. After 9 years of playing together, they have honed their skills to demonstrate their fluency at their respective instruments through tight vocal harmonies, complex melodies, dense compositions, improvisational soloing and dynamically cohesive presentation. Whether playing their more complicated pieces or presenting their easy going tunes, The Dang Ol' Tri'ole exhibits a multi genre, highly entertaining stage presence, mixing musicianship with humor.
To date, The Dang Ol' Tri'ole has released four albums: Rise and Shine (2014), Ranny Danzinger (2012) and Stumphole Water (2011). Their most recent album, Dang!, was released in January of 2018. The newest work effectively expresses their musical skills by incorporating a variety of genres including acoustic Latin, progressive stringband, bluegrass, gypsy and experimental folk to give the listener a broad and vaudevillian listening experience. Their current instrumentation includes trumpet, guitar, bass, cajon/congas and auxiliary percussion, with a focus on tight 3 & 4 part vocal harmonies. Aside from having over 3 hours of original music at their disposal, The Dang Ol' Tri'ole will pull in tunes from Amy Winehouse, Fleetwood Mac, the Allman Brothers, Waylon Jennings, Cake, Modest Mouse, John Denver, the Doobie Brothers, The Beatles, and Michael Jackson to name a few, maintaining the integrity of the original while adding a bit of Dang Ol' charm.
