Mitch took some time out to speak with the folks at Twin Cities Live about Hell's Kitchen and the new book, 'Damn Good Food.'

On Wednesday the city of Minneapolis got a sneak peak at the long awaited book, "Damn Good Food."  The book release launch party was a sold out event at both the 5:30 and 8:00 time slots. Mitch Omer and Ann Bauer stood up for their fans and shared tales of the labor that went into the pages.  The audience heard passages read from the book while they tasted a sampling of the restaurants most popular items.  Other speaking guests included Steve Meyer, co-owner, and Cynthia Gerdes, Mitch's wife.

Local band, HUD, also took the stage and helped set the festive mood with their amazing sound.

Guests were able to purchase the book as well, before it's October 1st release.  Mitch and Ann both mingled with the crowd and signed books.   The sales have surpassed expectations.  After securing my own copy it's easy to see what the fuss is about.  Mitch called the book, "a memoir with recipes,"  and that's exactly what it is.  Two days after the official release date, "Damn Good Food" rocketed 120,000 spaces up the chart on Amazon's best seller list.  Pretty impressive for a Midwest regional cookbook.  Get your copy at Hell's Kitchen, online, or at your local bookstore!  Thanks to everyone who came out to help us celebrate the debut of 'Damn Good Food'!

Come to Hell's Kitchen and enjoy an award winning meal with FREE live entertainment!  Our calender is overflowing with talented musicians, comedians etc. We're pretty choosy about who we allow on the stage, so you'll love who we've picked to play in The Underground.   (And yes, you CAN sit and carry on a conversation with the music we showcase.) The entertainment calender  can be found  on the left of this page. Cheers!

You, dear customers, are forcing us to chart new territory.

I'm Cynthia (aka Cyn, aka Mitch's wife and handler)...and when Publisher's Weekly asked if we were going to "market our new cookbook" via social networking, I lied, said "of course" and am now stuck trying to figure things out. Below is our first [feeble] attempt at a video, which shows you how we make our homemade Peanut Butter (enticing you of course to BUY the BOOK)...it's too long (but would you prefer we left out important instructions) but at least gives you a good idea on the nuances of making it. And it's definitely unprofessional. All you pros, don't bother calling us...we rather LIKED doing this. Mitch and I call ourselves "tech-know-nothings" but at least we warned you....now, in 8 minutes flat, here's my crazed husband puffing on his pipe while showing you his tricks:
